This exhibition is an artistic continuation of the debate on violence against children. It highlights the institutionalized violence in the Viennese boarding schools. The works have a particular focus on the former children’s home ” Hohe Warte “.
The present desolate condition of the structure is documented in photographic material, complemented with installations, quotes by former residents of children’s home and passages from the from the expert team of historians.
The exhibition’s title refers to a poem by Peter Ruzsicska who himself grew up in a similar environment.
As part of the artistic- scientific research, there was an intensive collaboration with former residents of the “eerie castle boys home ” as “Hohe Warte” was also referred to. In addition, books, newspaper reports and videos provide the visitor with more information about this topic.
