Goran Stanković’s “Our Father” is the big winner of the Herceg Novi Film Festival – The Montenegro Film Festival

Goran Stanković’s “Our Father” and Bojan Stijović’s “Black Trumpet”
clean up the awards in Herceg Novi

Goran Stanković’s debut feature “Our Father” is the big winner of the 39th Herceg Novi Film Festival – The Montenegro Film Festival, bagging the Grand Prix/ Golden Mimosa for Best Film, the Zoran Živković Plaque for Best Film, and the Golden Mimosa for Best Director (shared with Kosara Mitić for “17”). Furthermore, it brought its lead, Vučić Perović, the Golden Mimosa for Best Actor. The film was also the FEDEORA jury’s favourite pick.

A second film that dominated the evening was yet another debut feature, “Black trumpet” by the Montenegrin helmer Bojan Stijović, which previously screened in the international competition of the Bishkek International Film Festival.

The closing ceremony was held in the open-air amphitheatre of the historic Kanli Kula, followed by the screening of the festival’s closing, out-of-competition film, Biljana Tutorov & Petar Glomazić’s Sundance & Sarajevo winner “To Hold a Mountain”.
