HR Giger is the featured artist at Ars Electronica 2013. The Swiss native gained worldwide renown with his “Alien” creature that played a major role in Ridley Scott’s 1979 science fiction film attaining cult status. The upcoming exhibition in the LENTOS Art Museum, “HR GIGER – The Art of Biomechanics,” will feature world-famous images as well as some of the artist’s paintings, sculptures, graphics and short films that have never been shown before.

Heike Baranowsky istražuje mogućnosti digitalne tehnologije, sa lakoćom se prebacujući sa statičnih na pokretne slike i obratno, tako da je teško reći kada manipulacija počinje, a kada prestaje. Koristeći se statičnim snimcima i dugim kadrovima, ona kreira jedva primetne alteracije početnog kadra, poigravajući se sa pojmovima vremena i prostora.
In her art, Heike Baranowsky is examining the possibilities of digital takes, swiftly switching from stills to moving images and vice versa, making it difficult to tell when the manipulation starts or ends. By using the static shot and the long take, she is creating barely noticeable alterations of initial frame, playing with the notion of space and time.
